Dr. Yogita Ranade

Overview
Dr. Yogita Ranade has completed her Ph.D in Bioengineering from MIT ADT University and M.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Pune, Maharashtra. She has qualified national-level competitive exams, ASRB-ARS-NET in Agricultural Microbiology conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Prior to joining MIT, she was associated with ICAR–National Research Centre for Grapes (NRCG), Pune, where she contributed to research in plant–microbe interactions and viticulture biotechnology. Dr. Ranade has published extensively in reputed national and international journals and has received awards and recognitions for her scientific contributions.
At MIT, she is actively involved in teaching research, and mentoring, with a focus on developing sustainable biotechnological solutions for agriculture, environment, and healthcare, while also nurturing the scientific and innovative potential of young bioengineers. Her research focused on three main areas; Microbiology, Plant Pathology and Biotechnology. This included evaluating fungal and bacterial antagonists against necrotrophic and obligate fungal plant pathogens, mass multiplication of antagonists, extracellular secondary metabolite analysis, biochemical analysis, planning field experiments, disease observations, monitoring antagonist population on plants, insect karyotyping, microbial diversity analysis of different ecosystems, molecular identification of microbes and fermentation.
