5th International Conference on Bioengineering held at MIT-ADT University Pune
A two-day International Conference on Recent Trends In Bioengineering (ICRTB 2022) was organized by MIT School of Bioengineering Sciences and Research (MITBIO), a constituent unit of MIT ADT University on the 12th and 13th of February, 2022. The conference was convened by Prof. Dr. Renu Vyas, Head, MIT School of Bioengineering Sciences and Research. The inaugural program was presided over by Honourable Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad, Founder President, MAEERS MIT group of institutes Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive President, MIT-ADT University and Prof Vinayak Ghaisas founder Director, MIT School of Bioengineering Sciences and Research.
The conference provided a platform for the young students and aspiring researchers to interact with several stalwarts of international stature from the field of bioengineering. The inaugural address was given on Bioengineering Trends by the Chief Guest, Prof. Sabu Thomas, Vice Chancellor, MG University, Kerala. Other speakers included Prof. Jeremy Simpson (Professor, University College Dublin, Ireland) , Dr. Natalie Artzi (Professor, Harvard medical School, MA, USA) , Dr. Andreas Bender (Director, Digital life Sciences at ICB/Nuvisan, Berlin, Germany) , Prof. Reza abbasi-Asl (Professor, Neurology, Bioengineering & Therapeutic Sciences University of California, San Francisco, USA) , Dr. Justin Dauwels (Professor NTU, Singapore) and Dr. Nathan Johnson (Investigator & Associate research scientist, Harvard Medical School MA, USA). The conference had many industry leaders like Dr. S. K. Jana, Director, Human Vaccine Development, Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd., Pune, India, Prof. Sangeeta Kale Dean, DIAT, DRDO, Pune, India, Dr. Shiladitya Sengupta Professor, MIT Health Science and Technology, Harward, USA, Geeta Manjunath CEO, Niramai health analytix, Bangaluru, India and more.
Aligning with the theme of the conference, Nano-biotechnology: Solutions for healthcare and environment, several researchers presented their cutting edge research work. Nano biotechnology is one of the exciting and emerging fields, with potential far-reaching consequences in almost all arenas. A highly interdisciplinary science, nanotechnology can be a future game changer in improving the healthcare and in bringing about a sustainable environment. The speakers appreciated the conference organisers for the quality of the talks and the research work that was discussed.
The conference concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Renu Vyas. The young researchers were evaluated by expert researchers and industry professionals; and were awarded prizes for their poster and oral presentations during the valedictory function. The experts from the industry and the academia appreciated the efforts taken by MIT School of Bioengineering Sciences and Research for bringing out the platform and paving way for dissemination of knowledge.
