2nd International Conference on Recent Trend in Bioengineering (ICRTB 2019) held at MIT ADT University

On 16th of February 2019, School of Bioengineering Sciences & Research a constituent unit of MIT-ADT University hosted their second annual flagship event ICRTB 2019 at the picturesque Rajbaugh campus. More than hundred delegates across the country from Amity, BIT Mesra , Netaji Subash Chandra University (Delhi), CSIR-NCL innovation park, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Ooty) ,Fergusson College (Pune), KLE, Karnataka, NIT Meghalaya, DJ Sangvhi (Mumbai), Thadomal Sahani(Mumbai), Ganpat University (Gujarat), IISER Pune, Ayurveda Rasayani etc. participated in the event .

The dignitaries on dais included Hon. Vishwanath D Karad, founder MIT group of institutes and president of MIT-ADT University, Shri Pramod Chaudhari, executive chairman Praj Industries, Dr U.K Singh, Director DEBEL Bangalore, Dr Prakash Bachani Head Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for medical devices and hospital planning, Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive president MIT-ADT University, Dr Sunil Rai, Vice Chancellor, Prof Vinayak Ghaisas, Director School of Bioengineering and Dr. Renu Vyas Head of school. The conference was dedicated to late Dr B.D. Kulkarni distinguished scientist and dean of engineering sciences ACSIR. The plenary speakers included Dr Ashok Giri, Chair, Division of Biochemical Sciences, NCL, Dr. Jalinder Ambekar C-MET, Dr. Justin Dauwels, NTU Singapore, Dr Mubarak Khan, Dr Kingshuk Poddar KIHT, Dr Mukund Deshpande, Dr Sangeetha Kale DIAT, Dr Nishigandha Naik, Director Haffkines Institute, Mumbai, Dr Muthurajan, CSI Computech, Mumbai, Dr Susmita Ghosh Diagnorite and Dr Bhavik Sawhney Springer. The invited guests list included Serum Institute, Vital Technologies, Micare, Praj Industries, MIMER Medical College, Dr Sonali Joshi, Fergusson College, Dr Indu Sawant NRCG etc. There were 40 posters and oral presentations, the selected presentations were included in an abstract book with foreword written by Dr Kiran Mazumdar Shah, MD Biocon and selected papers will be published by Springer in a proceedings book. The other highlights of the conference were an industry expo that included stalls by companies like Nadi Tarangini, inauguration of Bioprocess & biochemical engineering, Tissue engineering and BSL II labs at the hands of dignitaries and signing of a MoU between School of Bioengineering and Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT) for cooperation in medical device technology transfer.
